URBAN BUSES:

In Barcelona there are 109 bus lines which cover the whole city, specially those districts which don't have a good metro service. In the pages of TMB (Metropolitan Transport of Barcelona) you have extensive information of all the lines and pull down maps for every bus stop in the city. As well as the regular day buses, there are other special bus services wich we itemize here below:

NIGHT BUSES - Nitbus : There is a night bus service which covers the city and Greater Barcelona towns. They all have their start in the area around Plaza de Catalunya. Service starts at 24.00 and run until 5.00 am. For more details, timetables, stops and itineraries see the pages of the Nitbus.

SHOPPING BUS: This bus runs along the main commercial streets of the city, from plaza de Catalunya, along Paseo de Gracia and Diagonal to plaza de Pius XII. It has plenty of space for buys, air conditioning and background music. More information.

TOURIST BUS: This bus has 3 different routes and 44 stops which cover all the tourist attractions of the city. Two of the routes start at Plaza de Catalunya, the other starts at the Port Olimpic. There are buses all day from 9.00 am to dusk and you may get on and off the bus as many times as you want with the same ticket. In the bus, a tourist assitant will announce the stops in different languages, and information about the sites is provided in the guide in 6 languages that you get. You can buy the tickets in any of the tourist offices of Barcelona in the TMB -Transport of Barcelona- offices or in the same bus. MONTJUIC BUS - PM: A special service that covers Montjuic mountain. It starts at the Avenida Reina Maria Cristina (close to Plaza de Espanya). Saturdays and holidays it works from 8.00 to 21.00, and on weekdays from 7:00 to 21:00.

TIBIDABO BUS - TibiBus: . A special service that takes you from Plaza Catalunya up to the summit of the Tibidabo mountain. This service only works when the amusement park is open. It leaves every 30 minutes. The last exit from the Tibidabo is 30 minutes before the park closes. Tickets are sold in the same bus. More information.

THE BUS OF THE PORT - Port Bus: This is not a regular service, it is addressed to the touristic cruise passengers and it has a varying timetable depending on the cruise arrivals. The bus stars at the breakwater (Rompeolas).

 

 

LONG DISTANCE BUSES :

In Barcelona there are many companies offering national and international itineraries. The most important stations are:

 

 

BUS TO THE AIRPORT: AeroBus .

This bus connects Barcelona El Prat Airport with Barcelona center. Buses leave every 6 - 15 minutes from Plaza de Catalunya, from the bus stop right opposite El Corte Inglés, it takes about 30 minutes to the airport depending on the traffic.

On the way to the airport, the buses stop at:

  • plaza de Catalunya
  • corner Paseo de Gracia / Diputació
  • at Avenida de Roma / Urgell
  • Sants station
  • Airport (A,B and C)

On the way to the city center it stops at:

  • Airport (A,B and C)
  • plaza de Espanya,
  • corner Gran Vía /Urgell
  • plaza Universidad
  • plaza de Catalunya


Timetables:
From Mondays to Sundays, including holidays, buses start at 5.30 am from Pl. Catalunya, and the last bus leaves at 00.15 am.
From the Airport, the first bus is at 6.00 am and the last at 01.00 am
The price of the ride is about 4 euros, and you may pay with VISA card or TARJETA 6000 inside the bus.
