Brown Thomas is the best place to find all the top-class designers for mens and womens wear, for accessories, and for cosmetics and perfumes. The shop was moved from its former home across the street in '95 and is now an extremely sophisticated store. Houses a number of cafes also, plus a hairstylists in the basement.

Brown Thomas's smaller and newly-established sibling across the street caters for the popular, less exclusive products of designers like CK, Armani, etc. Newly opened in '98, it's aimed squarely at the younger, trendy and wealthy customer and is an indicator of Dublin's fashion consciousness and current prosperity.

The Design Centre is a popular designer clothes store. Works on sale include those of Ireland's best contemporary designers, such as Louise Kennedy and Sharon Hoey. Prices are generally on the high side but bargains are to be had on sales goods and seconds.
