Location: Kells is situated on the N3, the trunk road from Dublin to Donegal. A officially listed Heritage town, it is a great destination in its own rite. Kells is also a good base for exploring the Boyne Valley, with all its historical associations. As well as the site of Battle of the Boyne (1690), there are the passage graves of Knowth, Dowth and Newgrange to be visited.
