ART AND CULTURE: FOUNDATIONS AND ART TRUSTS in Madrid

madrid hotels

Private and public arts trusts and foundations in Madrid represent a significant part of the overall arts scene in town.

They include art collections and temporary exhibits. Many of them belong to savings banks like the Fundación "La Caixa", Fundación Caja de Madrid or Bancaixa. Others are specialised in historical events/generations, like the Residencia de Estudiantes, where Federico García Lorca, Dalí or Buñuel lived. Some are specific to some subjects, like the Casa de América that focuses on issues related to the Hispanic world. Generally any event like talks, exhibitions, concerts, etc. that takes place in these spaces is usually advertised in newspapers and entertainment listings.
