Private and public arts trusts and foundations in Madrid represent a significant part of the overall arts scene in town.
They include art collections and temporary exhibits. Many of them belong to savings banks like the Fundación "La Caixa", Fundación Caja de Madrid or Bancaixa. Others are specialised in historical events/generations, like the Residencia de Estudiantes, where Federico García Lorca, Dalí or Buñuel lived. Some are specific to some subjects, like the Casa de América that focuses on issues related to the Hispanic world. Generally any event like talks, exhibitions, concerts, etc. that takes place in these spaces is usually advertised in newspapers and entertainment listings.
There are a number of foundations in Madrid that offer temporary exhibits. Here is a list of some of them.

Juan March was one of Spain's richest men, and now the Foundation is one of the most important private art foundations in Europe. They have ussually two major shows each year, as retrospectives of Marc Chagall, Kandinsky or europeans collections. You can see our recommendations in current exhibitions.
