Softguides offers information about Madrid districts both in textual descriptions in our section areas of Madrid and in our maps, some of which you can download. It is intended to help you decide what part of the city suits your needs and tastes. We have divided the city areas in 3 categories:

• City Center areas - Downtown Madrid
• Metropolitan Madrid areas - those areas inside the M-30 ring road, considered inside Madrid city
• Greater Madrid areas - suburban areas lying outside the M-30 ring road, some of them are part of Madrid's city council, others aren't; all of them are inside Madrid's region (Comunidad de Madrid).
