Madrid transport conditions have improved greatly in the last 10 years. The metro network is now among the best in Europe. The new airport is huge, modern and connected to the city by metro, and the high speed trains link now most of the important cities in Spain.

In our pages you have a description and useful information on the different means of transport: the metro system, the buses (urban and long distance), trains (commuter trains, regional , and general information on stations etc.), taxis, how to move around driving, information on car rental in Madrid, and, most important, how to get into and out of Madrid, in the arriving and departing section.

It is very pleasantly surprised to find that nearly everywhere in the historical centro can be reached in less than 45 minutes on foot.
There is also information on cycling, and daytrips round Madrid.
